This privacy policy governs your use of the software application Conquest of Shadows ("Application") for mobile devices that was created by L&L Programming. The Application is a multiplayer strategy game where players build empires, train armies, explore territories, and engage in tactical combat on a persistent hex-based map.

What information does the Application obtain and how is it used?

User Provided Information

The Application obtains the information you provide when you download and register the Application. Registration is required to play the Application and uses Firebase Authentication.

When you register with us and use the Application, you generally provide:

• (a) your email address and password for account creation via Firebase Authentication
• (b) your player display name and character class selection (Warrior, Wizard, Cleric, or Paladin)
• (c) transaction-related information, such as when you make in-app purchases for Adventuring Points or Resource Bundles
• (d) information you provide us when you contact us for help
• (e) credit card information for in-app purchases processed through the Apple App Store
• (f) information you enter into our system when using the Application, such as:
  • Game progress (level, experience, dominion points)
  • Territory ownership and building placements on the game map
  • Army compositions and military actions
  • Dungeon exploration progress
  • Item inventory and spell selections
  • Resource generation and management data
  • Exploration mission data and rewards
• (g) Game Center credentials if you choose to connect Game Center for achievements and leaderboards

We may also use the information you provided us to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, and marketing promotions.

Automatically Collected Information

In addition, the Application may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to:

• The type of mobile device you use
• Your mobile device's unique device ID
• The IP address of your mobile device
• Your mobile operating system version
• The type of mobile Internet browsers you use
• Information about the way you use the Application
• Analytics data regarding game usage, session duration, feature interaction, and gameplay patterns
• Network connectivity status for online multiplayer functionality

Cloud-Based Data Storage

Conquest of Shadows is an online multiplayer game that stores all game state data on cloud servers powered by Google Firebase and Google Cloud Run. This includes:

• Your account information and authentication credentials (encrypted)
• All gameplay data (territories, armies, resources, buildings, items)
• Combat history and battle statistics
• Exploration mission data
• In-app purchase transaction records
• Real-time game state for multiplayer interactions

This cloud-based architecture enables the persistent multiplayer world and ensures your progress is saved and accessible across devices.

Does the Application collect precise real time location information of the device?

This Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device. The game does not require or use location services.

Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application?

Yes. We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

• As required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process
• When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request
• With our trusted service providers who work on our behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement, including:
  • Google Firebase (authentication and database services)
  • Google Cloud Platform (backend server hosting)
  • Apple (Game Center integration and payment processing)
• If L&L Programming is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice within the Application of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information
• To analytics companies as described in the section below

Automatic Data Collection and Analytics

We may work with analytics companies to help us understand how the Application is being used, such as the frequency and duration of usage, which features are most popular, and how players progress through the game. This helps us improve the Application and provide a better gaming experience.

These analytics may collect:

• Device information (model, OS version, unique device ID)
• Session information (duration, frequency, feature usage)
• Game progression metrics (level achieved, territories owned, battles fought)
• Technical performance data (crashes, errors, loading times)

To protect your privacy, we use encryption and anonymization techniques to ensure that third parties cannot identify you personally based on this data.

What are my opt-out rights?

Opt-out of all information collection by uninstalling the Application

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling the Application. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Please note that uninstalling the Application does not automatically delete your account or game data from our servers. If you wish to have your account and all associated data permanently deleted, please contact us at [email protected].

Opt-out of Game Center

You can disconnect your Game Center account from the Application through your iOS device settings. This will prevent sharing of achievements and leaderboard data, but will not affect your ability to play the game.

Opt-out of analytics tracking

You can limit analytics tracking on your iOS device by:

1. Going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements
2. Disabling "Share iPhone Analytics" and "Share with App Developers"

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 24 months and thereafter may store it in aggregate.

Account Deletion

If you'd like us to delete your account and all associated User Provided Data, please contact us at [email protected]. Upon receiving your request, we will:

• Permanently delete your player account
• Remove all your territories and buildings from the game map
• Delete all your armies, resources, and inventory data
• Remove your combat and exploration history
• Delete your authentication credentials

We will respond to deletion requests within a reasonable time (typically 30 days). Please note that some information may be retained in backup systems for up to 90 days.

Anonymized Data

Even after account deletion, we may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you personally. This data is used for analytics and improving the game experience.

Children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application is rated for ages 12+ due to mild fantasy violence. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child under 13 has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable time.

Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain.

Security measures include:

• Encryption of authentication credentials and sensitive data
• Secure HTTPS communication between the Application and our servers
• Server-side validation of all game actions to prevent cheating
• Firebase security rules that restrict data access to authorized users only
• Regular security audits of our backend infrastructure
• Access controls limiting employee access to user data

Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

In-App Purchases

The Application offers the following in-app purchases:

Consumable Purchases

These items can be purchased multiple times:

• 5 Adventuring Points ($0.99) - Used for dungeon exploration
• Resource Bundle ($0.99) - 1,000 Gold, Iron, Lumber, and Stone for building and army training
• 15 Dominion Points ($2.99) - Used to expand your empire
• 24-Hour Resource Boost ($1.99) - +50% resource generation for 24 hours
• 7-Day Resource Boost ($4.99) - +50% resource generation for 7 days

Note: Resource booster purchases extend duration rather than replace existing boosts.

Non-Consumable Purchases

These are one-time purchases that persist permanently:

• Remove Ads ($1.99) - Permanently removes all advertisements
• Premium Starter Pack ($4.99) - 3,000 of each resource, 10 Dominion Points, and 15 Adventuring Points (one-time only)
• 9th Army Slot ($2.99) - Unlocks a 9th army slot beyond the base 8
• Castle Skins - Cosmetic appearances for your castle:
  • Dark Fortress Skin ($2.99)
  • Crystal Palace Skin ($2.99)
  • Forest Sanctuary Skin ($2.99)
  • Volcanic Citadel Skin ($3.99)

Non-consumable purchases support Family Sharing, allowing up to 5 different game accounts to use the same Apple purchase.

VIP Subscription

The Application offers an optional auto-renewable subscription:

• VIP Subscription ($4.99/month) - Includes:
  • +25% resource generation (stacks with resource boosters)
  • +1 exploration slot for more simultaneous missions
  • +20 Dominion Points granted monthly
  • Exclusive VIP castle skin

The subscription automatically renews each month unless cancelled. Benefits are applied immediately upon purchase and removed when the subscription expires.

Payment Processing and Security

All payment processing is handled securely through the Apple App Store. We do not directly collect or store your credit card information.

Purchase receipts are validated with Apple's servers to ensure transaction authenticity. We maintain a record of completed transactions (transaction ID, product purchased, date) to prevent fraud and provide customer support, but this record does not include your payment information. Each transaction ID can only be processed once to prevent receipt replay attacks.

Firebase and Google Cloud Services

The Application uses Google Firebase for authentication and data storage, as well as Google Cloud Run for backend game logic. These services process and store your game data according to Google's privacy policies and security standards.

Data stored with Firebase and Google Cloud:

• Account credentials (encrypted)
• Game state (territories, armies, resources, buildings)
• Player statistics and progression
• Combat and exploration history
• In-app purchase validation records

Game Center Integration

The Application integrates with Apple's Game Center for features such as:

• Achievement tracking (battle victories, territory control, spell mastery, boss defeats)
• Leaderboards (dominion points, level progression)

When you connect to Game Center, your Game Center information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We only receive your Game Center player ID and public information you choose to share (such as your Game Center nickname). We do not have access to your personal Apple ID or contact information.

You can disconnect Game Center at any time through your iOS device settings without affecting your ability to play Conquest of Shadows.

Multiplayer Interactions

Conquest of Shadows is a multiplayer game where your actions are visible to other players, including:

• Your display name (visible to all players)
• Your territory ownership on the shared game map
• Your building placements (castles, bases)
• Your army movements (when attacking or exploring)
• Your combat results (visible to opponents)

Your display name is the only personally-identifiable information visible to other players. Other players cannot see your email address, Game Center information, or any other personal data.

Server-Authoritative Architecture

For security and fair play, Conquest of Shadows uses a server-authoritative architecture. This means:

• All game actions are validated by our backend servers
• Your device has read-only access to game data
• All changes to game state (territory claims, army training, resource spending) are processed through our secure Cloud Run API
• This prevents cheating and ensures fair gameplay for all users

While this architecture requires an internet connection to play, it ensures the integrity of the multiplayer experience.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by:

You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us. "Processing" means using information in any way, including, but not limited to, collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining and disclosing information, all of which activities will take place in the United States.

If you reside outside the United States, your information will be transferred, processed and stored there under United States privacy standards. By using the Application, you consent to this transfer and processing.

Data Transfers

Conquest of Shadows uses cloud services hosted in the United States. If you access the Application from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers and databases are located.

California Privacy Rights
